Standard No Hookup Site Camping
Standard Campsites. A standard campsite is the second most common type of campsite and can vary in amenities depending on what campground. While a standard campsite is one that includes a paved or graded driveway, fire ring, and picnic table, there are many campgrounds in which standard campsites can consist of partial RV hookups such as electric and water service. Hookups include water and electrical hookups, but a full hookup also provides a sewage hookup for you. There are also parks that offer cable and phone hookups as well as Wi-Fi services, though these are less common. These luxuries are not necessarily included, even in campsites that offer a full hookup.
When a campsite has both water and electric hookups, but no sewer hookup, like this campsite, it is considered a “partial hookup” site. Primitive campsites, or “no hookups” means you’ll need to be self-reliant for your power and water needs. When that’s the case, you’re “dry camping” or “boondocking.” Your water supply will come from your fresh tank and your power supply will come from a generator, solar power, and/or battery power. A full hookup campsite is a site that will have access to all the amenities to hook to your motorhome or travel trailer. These amenities include a hookup for your water lines, a hookup for your electricity. This will include a 50 amp service, 30 amp service or both. Also, there is usually at least one 110v plug.
